Only A Colliery Lass

I am only a colliery lass
Not academic or stuff like that
Others may know more than me
But I have something they can't see
I have a gift from God to me
God gave me aloving heart
For the land where I am a part
So I must do what I can do
And know my God will see me through
He gave me gifts and limitations
But then the peace and confirmation
Of knowing of that inner peace
Where trials and conflicts cease
To love the land and all that be
a part ot which is little me.
