In Norway a lot of people want a change, but few want to change
Many of us greatly value the ministry of the Open Gate Retreat House on Holy Island. Like all hospitality businesses, this has been significantly impacted by the Coronavirus pandemic.
As a result it has, of course, been necessary to close the House for some 4 months, and whilst we have now reopened, we have done so subject to a careful risk assessment and reduced guest numbers, to ensure adequate social distancing and safety of our staff and guests. All this has inevitably meant a significant loss of income for this year and an estimated loss of around £60,000. Whilst this has been partly offset by some Government support and some personal loans, we are still facing a significant shortfall.
As part of our recovery plan, we are offering High Rigg House on Holy Island as independent, self-contained, self-catering accommodation, particularly to Community Members and Friends, as an opportunity to come away to a special location, in a safe and socially distanced way. Please contact Kayleah at the Open Gate direct for rates and availability.
