It started when I gazed at the window in the Fishermen's Chapel in St. Mary's Church, Holy Island of Lindisfarne, following a packed pilgrim congregation on Easter Day.  Pilgrims had walked with wooden crosses from places as far as Hexham and Haddington. Fishermen's tackle lay before us in front of the altar,  celebrating the great victory that reversed a Government plan to close down the island's fishing livelihood.

In the stained glass window Jesus met fishermen. But the top of the window is closed off with a churchy old fashioned roof.  As I gazed I 'saw' skies, seas and diverse horizons replace this roof.  And then the characters begin to speak ....
